Digital photography has revolutionized the way most photographers work these days. The speed of conversion and the internet have made it ideal for photojournalists and sports photographers that can now be half way across the world and have their work home to their employer/publisher for review within minutes. The instant review has made them a favorite amongst studio photographers that can now know if they have the shot seconds after pressing the shutter.
With reasons for and against digital over traditiona/film photography it was the ease in showcasing ones work that had this photographer crossing over to the newer side! And while for a while a photo sharing service had covert all the online gallery posting needs the time to move forward has come. Reminiscing Visions was a notion of old that always created a more romantic mood.
The fundamental differences amongst conventional cameras and digital cameras have created a learning curve that has caused awkwardness and confusion amongst pros and enthusiasts alike. Several concerns have also arisen in question to whereas the newer digital cameras will replace the older film ones, i.e. if digital photography will replace film photography or if they will somehow coexist. Without going into detail lets just say that it is one guy's opinion that even though in the near future colour photos, be they flora macros, nature scenes, still life or even commertial and nude will be taken over by the digital world, the genre of black & white and infrared are still in the film domain and probably will remain for some time. Fine art, while most people consider a different category, belongs to any one.
So while the original notion behind page was to showcase this photographers work it has also taken a side-goal of helping newer digital photographers have a smoother transition.
On another note, one of the most important future updates will be posting some actions that will, hopefully, help fellow photographers in their daily workflow (a sharpening action and a filter or two). Admittedly this photographer uses a Canon EOS but there is no reason why these wouldn't work on a Nikon, Olympus, Minolta or any other camera as long as the software used is the same.
Apparently what is not told when deciding to create a page and jumping in with both feet is that even after you familiarize yourself with html, php, xml and God knows what else is out there! You are not done! There are hosting issues and browser conflicts to consider. With the later still creating a tad of a problem the hosting issues have finally been resolved so the site will be moving (slowly but steadily) from now on. Most things probably appear the same the inner workings have been completely re-written, Instead of a hosted (partially functional) newsletter script the page is now equipped with fully functional php based newsletter and huge updates are being made to the gallery posting methods, with those complete all future gallery transformations will be easy and fast, hence often made, and more time will be available for more additions.
